Title:
Web analytics: Creating reports that people will read
Description:
Every week, Harvard Public Affairs & Communications (HPAC) reports on usage
of its websites, as well as Harvard activity in the social realm, boiling
lots of data down into four numbers to tell a story about reach, influence
and audience engagement. I¹ll show you how we arrived at those numbers so
that you can adapt them for your own use. We¹ll also talk a bit about the
launching-soon redesign of harvard.edu, and how web analytics has helped
shape the new site.
Bio:
As a web analyst for HPAC, Max Daniels reports weekly on the activities of
Harvard¹s millions of web visitors. Earlier this year, she attended SXSW for
the first time, where (fair warning!) she took the Guy Kawasaki pledge to
cap every presentation at 20 minutes. Max also has an extracubicle career as
a personal coach (maxdaniels.com), helping people earn more, weigh less, and
generally be happier.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in a few days!
