[MIT Undergraduates] UA Elections and Committees

Dear Undergraduates,

I hope your academic year is off to a terrific start!  The UA has started its
election cycle and I would like to invite you to run for a position as UA
Senator or 2011 Class Council member.

UA Senate is tasked with drafting legislation and resolutions which direct UA
policy as we work with the administration to make positive changes to your MIT
experience.  Class Councils strive to promote class unity and provide students
with an opportunity to get away from MIT by sponsoring educational and social
events.  Attached are the election packets for Senate and 2011 Council.

If you intend to run for one of these positions, be aware of these key dates:
*September 26, 5pm W20-401 (UA Office):  Election materials due
*September 27, 12:01am:  Campaigning begins for official candidates
*October 1, 12:01am - October 4, 11:59pm:  Online voting at vote.mit.edu
*October 5, 10am-4pm Lobby 10:  Paper balloting

In addition to these elected positions, the UA is currently recruiting for a
number of UA committees.  Each of the UA's various committees focuses on a
specific portion of life at MIT.  In order to join a committee, please email
the committee chair using the information below.  Also, attached is a document
that explains the UA structure and details the goals of each committee.
