Dear Dspace community,
I am currently working on implementing Dspace at Nanyang Technological
University in Singapore. The pilot test they chose was an older
collection of proceedings. I am having a hard time figuring out the best
way to tag them. From looking around I have noticed that most
proceedings are kept together and the individual article is not pulled
out from the actual journal.
We have had these scanned already with the intent to have each article a
separate entity, so we will be using the citation DC tag along with the
title tag.
What I am confused on is:
The citation tag - should this be the actual article or the journal and
should I format it in a particular way - page numbers etc
Should I just put all the articles together to form one journal? Are
there some standards on this in cataloging rules somewhere?
Is it a good idea to load these records into your OPAC? What do people
normally do with their Dspace records are they replicated in your OPAC
systems?
Is anyone willing to share the metadata DC tags so I can see the way
people are cataloging?
I do hope this is the correct place to ask these types of questions
Thanks for your help
Warm regards
JOY
