Subject: NIH Post-bacc IRTA Program

I am a clinical fellow in hematology/oncology at the NIH. I am writing to ask your assistance in helping us to recruit promising quantitatively oriented undergraduates/recent graduates to apply to the NIH Intramural Research Training Program and specifically to Dr. Cynthia Dunbar’s translational stem cell biology lab, within which I am currently employed. Dr. Dunbar has a long history of recruiting and fostering the careers of excellent post-baccalaureates, particularly those with a strong quantitative backgrounds. Most publish a first author or co-first author paper (or more) and present their work at national/international meetings. Their achievements have positioned them well for application to MD, PhD or MD/PhD programs. The attached Word document contains more details and contact information.

We are particularly hoping to target current seniors and recent (within the past 3 years) graduates and I would be very grateful if you would disseminate as appropriate. Thank you for considering!

With my best wishes,

Stefan Cordes, M.D., Ph.D.
Clinical Fellow Hematology/Oncology
