1. ASA Space Move In/Out Process and Cleanout Dates - Feb 24 & 25

Reminder that space allocations are available here<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1E1OPZEh5C2KC5CQgH0KcqzmIiKhoaUbGzF7Qw9OxBPE/edit?usp=sharing>. Groups that are moving into new rooms/lockers will get access to their space from CAC immediately. If you have issues with access, please email cac-locks at mit.edu<mailto:cac-locks at mit.edu>. Groups will have from now until Feb 25 to move in or out. Groups that are moving out will retain access to their old rooms until Feb 25.

The “BIG ASA Space Cleanout” will be hosted by CAC and ASA on Feb 24 (W20) and Feb 25 (Walker) . A team of movers will be present to help groups dispose small and large objects alike. ASA and CAC will be stationed in Coffeehouse Lounge (W20-308) providing food and drinks for students during these two days and answering any questions. This is an opportunity for groups to dispose of items that:

  1. [MANDATORY] are a safety violation as outlined by the EHS safety report <https://drive.google.com/open?id=1zcM_mur3vhIJWAosKQDcdahn-i8GmfDO> (check the document for any violations found in your group’s space)
  2. are no longer needed (old paper files, filing cabinets, broken computers, broken storage containers and boxes, etc)
  3. are old and haven’t been thrown away for lack of replacement (old chairs, couches and other furniture). CAC is happy to replace old functional furniture with *updated functional furniture* (chairs, desks, tables) as long as there is available stock.

[ACTION REQ] Groups will have to tag items they want to KEEP using tags provided by CAC (in W20-500). They will be available immediately for groups that want to start tagging items now. The movers on Feb 24 (for W20) and Feb 25 (for Walker) will then proceed to dispose of any items that are NOT tagged. All groups with space need to complete this form<http://cglink.me/s11055> that discloses the objects they anticipate they will be disposing off so that the movers can more efficiently plan. If you are done properly tagging items before the cleanout, there is no need to come. However, if you are interested in overseeing the cleanout of your space, sign up for a 30min time slot<https://doodle.com/poll/cg9vd9kbgpetg3f6>.

If you have any questions on space, please email asa-space at mit.edu<mailto:asa-space at mit.edu>.

-------------------------------------------------------

Please feel free to email asa-exec at mit.edu with any requests, questions, or other inquiries.

Sincerely,

The ASA Executive Board
