Dear colleagues and friends:

As some of you have heard, I am leaving MIT to take a web communications
position at the University of Oxford. I will be joining the James Martin
Institute for Science and Civilization as Web and Publications Officer
<http://www.martininstitute.ox.ac.uk/>

It has been a longtime dream of mine to live in the UK, but it wasn't an
easy decision. MIT has been an amazing place to work - thanks in large
part to all of you - who contributed images, words, ideas and your
enthusiasm to make MIT's home page so unique.
I am leaving the MIT website in very capable hands. My colleague Rebecca
Macri (rmacri at mit.edu) has been designing the home page for the last six
months, and she will be taking over day-to-day management. If you'd like
to request a spotlight, you can do so online at
http://web.mit.edu/site/request.html or by writing to the team at
spotlight at mit.edu

It has truly been an honor to work with all of you, and I have learned
so much from our collaborations. Thank you for lending your creative
energy, your genuine enthusiasm, and your friendship. I also want to
thank my teammates - Rebecca, Hubert Pham, Brian Keller, Lisa Damtoft,
Dave Conlon, the News Office staff, and especially Suzana Lisanti for
their insights, and for making the job as fun as it was rewarding.

*Impromptu gathering Tuesday night*

Now, on to the fun part. I would like to invite you all to an informal
gathering tonight from 5:30-7:30 pm at Middlesex Lounge, 315 Mass. Ave.
near N42. Click for an Evite
http://www.evite.co.uk/app/publicUrl/VMFOOOTSJKKWSNHOBWGQ/web-pub or the
venue website <http://www.middlesexlounge.us>.

Even if you can't stay long, I hop you will pop in to say hi. Please
extend this invite to your colleagues as well, and anyone I may have
missed. If you want to reach me going forward, the best way is by email
- susancurran at gmail.com

with all best wishes and many thanks,

Susan
