Hello undergraduates,
In order to better support the undergraduate community, the Undergraduate
Association is going to begin experimenting with* emailing out
a weekly newsletter with what's happening on campus in terms of events for
undergraduates that week*. *It's a great way to publicize events,
fundraisers, and info sessions, and to explore new groups on campus! *The
Graduate Student Council has been doing this, and has found it helpful in
condensing information to students about what's going on on campus and
events that they can attend. Once a month, this will align with a monthly
report from the UA about the projects that are currently being worked on.
*Some general guidelines for events that can be submitted (which are
amenable to edits, as the idea develops):*
- Events that are submitted to this should be *open to all
undergraduates* to attend, but can range from study breaks to
informational sessions to speaker events to formal evening affairs.
- Events do not necessarily have to be free, but any *additional costs
should be specified*.
- Submitted events will need to be from *ASA-approved groups*. (If you
think your event is an exception to this rule, feel free to mention that in
the Additional Comments section).
- The form to add events to the newsletter for following weeks will be
linked in every weekly email.
- Events will be *advertised up to 2 weeks (2 newsletters) beforehand.*
- Events must be added before *6 PM on the previous Sunday* to be
included in that week's newsletter.

Hope your first days went well!
