Hi All,

Short Version: GIRs will be changing soon. We need your help. Win
one of twenty $20 Tech Cash Prizes!

The General Institute Requirements (GIRs) form the foundation of our
courses of study at MIT. The Faculty has from time to time modified
these requirements, and after more than three years of review and
study by MIT faculty members and undergraduate students, a new set of
proposed changes to the GIRs will be presented before the faculty for
a vote in December. If adopted, these changes will take effect for all
undergraduate students entering after the class of 2014.

This is your chance to help make recommendations for the future of the
MIT education.

In order to gather student opinion on these proposed changes, the UA
Student Committee on Educational Policy (UA SCEP) invites you to
participate in the following survey:

https://scripts-cert.mit.edu/~ua/surveys/php/gir.php

The survey closes at 11:59pm on Sunday, November 16th. It takes
approximately 10 minutes to complete, and all participating students
will be automatically entered in a lottery to win one of twenty $20
prizes in TechCash.

The results of this study will be presented to the faculty and
publicized across campus, so your insights will play a critical role
in guiding Institute policy in the future of undergraduate education
at MIT.

Thanks again for your help!

Best,

Noah

On behalf of the UA Student Committee on Educational Policy
