Hi All,

Have questions on the proposed changes to the GIRs? Want to play a
role in what future freshman will experience academically? Want to
have your opinions
count towards the future of undergraduate education at MIT?

Come to the UA Town Hall on the Proposed Changes to the GIRs!

Date: Tomorrow: Friday, November 7, 2008
Time: 4:00pm - 5:30pm
Location: UA Senate Chambers (W20-400)

We will have as special guests Professor Redwine and Professor
Stewart, the chairs of the Educational Commons Subcommittee (ECS) who
have led the process of formulating recommendations for concrete
changes to MIT's policies and regulations concerning undergraduate
education.

Motions to implement changes to the General Institute
Requirements, including the addition of more varieties of core science
subjects and the elimination of HASS-D designated subjects, will be
made at the next faculty meeting in November.

I do hope you will join us and help provide feedback before these
changes are implemented. The final decision will have an effect on
the academics of MIT for decades.

Best,

Noah
