[Tango-L] The state of "nuevo" music

Thanks for the comments, on list and off, about people dancing to
non-tango music (sometimes called nuevo). It's true - the kids in BA
(or anyone else) are not dancing to non-tango music. I did not hear
from anyone who knows of a milonga in BA that plays anything but tango
music.

It seems the only ones who are dancing to non-tango music are the new
(or newer) communities. Maybe that's why it got the association with
the young. What a shame. It will take these communities a lot longer
to learn tango.

I also hear from teachers and performers who feel that they must use
non-tango music, or they will not "reach" new people considering
learning tango. Good idea or not?
