Since I answered to something that Melina was trying to
post to the list, it wouldn't be fair to me not to include
her entire post (which she wrote was meant for the list).

I'm omitting the part where she speaks about tango-l
admin matters.

And, to you, Alexis Cousein, I would like to repeat directly:
1. I do judge from the point of view of a social dancer. Watch my
videos and you'll see, that I do not dance Tango Fantasia, but the
most puristic Tango, focussing on the walk and the embrace. When
performing in Argentina, quite a few Argentinians even complained
about our simplicity, because they wanted to see more "steps".
2. You are totally correct in noticing a discrepancy in my comment.
Actually, I just wanted to say something nice about the average
Milonguero. I should have just left the sentence "I have to admit..."
out. Nowadays, a lot of dedicated european or north armerican
Milongueros know the music as well as the Argentines and navigate
perfectly on the dancefloor. No need to be too modest. ;-)
3. I am German and no native english speaker. So please, abstain from
commenting on my writing skills.

Bye now,

Melina

--------------------------------------------------------

Thanks all for the lively discussion.

In case that you refer to my article, I would neverthelss ask you to
read it completely. I am a little worried, that taking out one quote,
can lead to misinterpretations of my blog. I was not trying to demean
argentine culture or heritage. What I was describing, is Tango as a
product of international exchange - and those, who do not understand
this.

So please read the article here:

Furthermore, I want to remind you of another post on Tango-L, that
made some interesting points as well:

Best,

Melina
