Huck says: "I believe you forgot perhaps the mostimportant basic of all: Knowing and loving the classic Argentine musicalrepertoire to the point that..."

I totally agree I forgot about musicality. To know the music is basic. It is very important to know where the beat is and that each tango has "Adagios" or slow moments and "Variaciones" or fast moments.

There is then a change in dynamics as these moment are to be danced accordingly as well as the pauses.

In this respect then, it is basic to recognize that one has to change the speed of the dance according to to the musical moment; and also to know that eventually each orchestra has to be danced differently.

One cannot dance D'Arienzo the same as Pugliese for instance, to recognize that one orchestra is faster than the other can be taught from the beginning .

As to axis and core, that is taught as part of posture, frame, muscle tone, etc. In this respect is necessary to prevent problems such as "dancing heavy" or "putting weight on your partner", taking your partner out of his axis, etc.
