I can't recall anyone ever using the phrase "one true way to do tango"  
and I suppose it's just your interpretation of what people say.

But they do "do tango" in a particular way in the traditional milongas 
of Buenos Aires and, if you go to those milongas, I personally think 
that you should at least try to do it their way. If you don't like it, you 
can always go to the non-traditional milongas.

Isn't that fair?
