[Tango-L] Talking on the floor (was Labor Day Festival: a complaint)

I was told by a porteno that the men use that time to listen to the music and decide how they will dance it given the woman in their arms.  Small talk, getting to know one another, sharing info about other milongas or discussing the music are ways one can spend that time.  Whatever it is, I really like it.  It makes me more comfortable and connected to my partner.  Perhaps in your own community you already know the folks very well ( or too well?).
