[Tango-L] How many pivots?

Igor,

Now this is where video could come in handy. I have no idea what a shin boleo or a heap boleo is.

My analysis was limited to a person's specific body movement. Your blog reminded me of another pivot in which I have no torsion, but the man is basically going around my center (as in a calesita, for example). Getting two people together can result in using energy to pivot.

It appears to me, though, that some of your analysis may have to do more with velocity than creating a different way of pivoting. Or possibly with leading the pivot, which to me is different from the pivot itself (e.g. you can lead me to do a boleo using only your left arm or without no arms but my pivoting remains the same). I'd be interested if you can elaborate more on your ways of pivoting. (Words are fine. No need to start videotaping, yet. )

  Trini,
I am not able to answer you, I do not want to look as a beginner.
So, if you are so sure there are only 2 good methods of making a pivot, so
be it.
Everyone else can find an answer on my site.

Igor Polk.

Hi Igor,

Actually, beginners sometimes try to use their foot to pivot, resulting in
a hopping pivot. Some people throw their shoulders. Some throw their leg.
These last 2 result in spirals but also tend to result in loss of balance.
That's all I can think of.

Nighty-night,
Trini

So, Trini, is there only 2 techniques to make a pivot?
"Dissociation" with "the impetus from the hip" and "Spirals" ?
