Dear Marisa, dear Petra and all others.

Thanks for your mail. As we're travelling and still in NYC, I just
found the time to answer it.

The reasons for our embrace?
Well... maximum contact combined with maximum freedom to move. Our
motto is actually "Tango is walking in an embrace", this is why the
connection is more important for us, than beeing able to do all kinds
of movements. And in the wrapping-my-arm-all-around-way I find the most
intimate connection.

So: In the "older" videos I focused on the maximum contact and
accepted being slightly out of my axis, as Detlef is just a little too
big for me to reaching around AND standing in my axis.
Just recently we changed some of our movements and found new ones in
which I wanted to move a little more freely. So I changed the position
of the arm. But still: If you look carefully, I change betweeen the two
embraces. And I think I will keep on interchanging as sometimes the
connection is more important and sometimes the freedom of movement. It
depends on the music and our mood.

I hope I could answer your question.

By the way: I'm not that young and I was not in Buenos Aires recently
(although I will be from friday on), so the hot-fashion-thingy is not
an issue . ;-)

Greetings,

Melina
