I'd have to disagree (slightly).

Many show tango moves *can* be danced in a crowded room in a more
compact way, at least if you have quite good navigational instincts
(which lets you bend them out of shape to follow the natural flow
of the floor).

*Even* boleos, the bane of crowded dance floors, can be made
gentle, subtle and compact (though you can't lead them with
followers that insist on amplifying them at all cost, at least
unless you want to make lots of instant enemies).
