I still see it as a change of style, not as a surprising reaction to the
lead. There probably was no lead at all..

Long long time ago I was attending some tango lessons. And I was learning
Sacadas. I was taught to step into a her openings between legs. ( seriously,
please, I experience difficulties even now with it - in the language ) I was
so pissed off. Why the women do not make any, inside which I can step into
and make a nice sacada !?

Then I stopped going to these classes. I went straight to the dance floor.
Where, I pretty quickly learned that an opening between her legs for making
sacadas is required
only in TANGO NUEVO STYLE!

In traditional styles, when women keep legs more straight and step more
normal, or even keep their knees together, as soon as one has a foot and a
body (!!!) sacadas are possible on practically any step in any situation.

So you Trini hid from the poor guy in another style of dancing. He was
trained in one style, you hid from him in another one.

Igor Polk.
PS. For the sake of completeness, I am not afraid to say now, that for the
perfect sacada feel, there is need to actually displace the leg.
