Hello Tang Residents:
tl;dr: We are trying to set-up a book club to explore the themes of Leadership and Inclusion, and would like to know 1) if you are interested in participating and 2) if you have any book suggestions. If so, please share them here (http://goo.gl/wfecbr) by Friday, Oct 19. To skim quickly, please check the bold portions.
Inspiration:
Leadership and Inclusion was inspired by Donna Hicks’ book – Leading with Dignity. One of the most important aspects of leadership is tocreate and maintain an inclusive community. Interestingly, some attempts to be inclusive, can reinforce exclusive practices unintentionally due to limited scope, lack of understanding of the meaning of dignity and understanding that dignity is not just being inclusive or tolerant of another human being, but being thoroughly humane.
This club looks forward to taking a bibliophilic approach and ponder on this aspect of inclusive leadership in a contemporary context and in a relaxed setting.
Approach:
Following up on the setting, we are waiting to build up on the membership of the club. As of now, we plan to host (bi-)weekly sessions in the Head of House suite or the 24th Floor Lounge.
Next Step:
Once we have a list of books, we will send out a When2Meet poll to find a suitable time for all residents.
Looking forward to your suggestions!
Have a great week ahead!
