Hello Tang Residents:

Since the weather is changing and I have been smelling and receiving complaints about cigarette and marijuana smoke, I must send out this notice to inform everyone of the No Smoking Policy in Tang.

There is no smoking allowed anywhere inside of Tang Hall and although marijuana is legal in Massachusetts, it is not permitted on campus.

I’d like to confirm for the smokers that smoke travels very easily in the stairwells, through the vents and depending on the day, out of your window and into your neighbors making it very unpleasant for non-smokers. I hope you will respect the policy and avoid the unpleasant and disruptive experience of the eviction process.

To the neighbors who are also smelling the smoke, we encourage you to continue reporting it so that we can quickly resolve the matter. In the meantime, please review the following:

Mind and Hand Book, Marijuana: http://handbook.mit.edu/drugs
The Housing Agreement, Tobacco: http://studentlife.mit.edu/housing/housing-policies/smoking

Feel free to contact me if there are any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,
Dawn Anderson, Tang Hall, HOH
