The Office for the Dean of Graduate Education has an opening for a Graduate Community Fellow to work on marketing and digital media with the MIT Graduate Student Council. The position will start in mid-August 2013 and end in May 2014. Fellows will receive a partial stipend. A job description is below.

Job description: GSC Media Fellow
This Fellow supports efforts in promoting engagement in and chronicling MIT graduate student life. She or he will generate photos, videos, and graphic design content that will serve to document graduate student life and resources at the Institute, and will create and design engaging and eye-catching marketing campaigns that will inform and engage graduate students more efficiently. The Creative Media Manager will work closely with, and report to, the Graduate Student Council’s Administrators as well as the GSC Publications Board and GSC Secretary. The appointment period is August 15 through May 31. The work includes the following:
· Managing GSC marketing campaign planning and operations
· Helping coordinate GSC social media content development, including on sites such as Tumblr, Twitter, and Facebook
· Leading the GSC’s partnership with The Tech on graduate student news coverage
· Coordinating a public education campaign on achievements by graduate student campus leaders
· Spotlighting Institute Committee graduate student representatives
· Developing the GSC media technology capability

Skills desired:
Experience with social media; experience or interest in leveraging media content in designing creative marketing and publicity campaigns; ability to generate user feedback at events and via online media (e.g. interviews at events, online forums, marketing campaigns)
