Scanning image documents to Vendors

Hi Sherie,

Thank you for your response.

The way we do it is to scan the document to Archivelink (like using the Store and Assign in transaction OAAD) to the PREL BO which links the image directly to the Employee record in SAP. Then when the user executes the workflow, it displays the image in one screen and also takes them directly to the infotype of the Employee record that needs to have changes made. I'd like to do the same thing with the Vendor images - scan using Vendor number as part of the key like Employee number is part of the PREL key.

If I used BO IMAGE, would I have to write something to then link the image to the Vendor record?

I guess I could create my own Z Business Object.....

Hi Sue,
Are you then archiving the document? We use the BO IMAGE to scan invoices and initiate workflows... would that suffice?

Sherie

Subject: Scanning image documents to Vendors

We are on SAP ECC 6.0

Currently we have a process where certain image document types are scanned to employee records which then kick off workflows. For employees (BUS1065), there is a BO PREL (Employee document) that we scan to.

Our users want to be able to scan W-9 forms to Vendors. I see a BO BUS2020 (Vendor Document), but it is only in Modeled status, so I can't create the subtype of ZBUS2020 and generate it so I can add the Event (Assigned) that will trigger the workflow. It won't let me generate it because it is in modeled status and BO BUS2020 is an SAP object - which I don't want to update.

Why would SAP have BUS2020 only be in modeled status? Is there another BO that I should use?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
