As a matter of fact we received an authorisation error yesterday when
attempting to activate it. Seems UWL_SERVICE needs additiional
authorisation to access function group 'SYST'. We couldn't easily
identify the actual authorisation required so assigned SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW
profiles (we are talking a dev system here) and then it activated ok.

Tom,
Please report it via the usual SAP channels as soon as possible so that we
get an official fix for everyone.
I've not noticed that behaviour previously - so it looks like a new bug.
Could also be an auth issue so just double check no-one has got creative
with your uwlservice user's authorizations.
Regards,
Jocelyn

Karl,
What perfect timing for your response.
We noticed a problem once we implemented the note and configured the Delta
Pull from the portal. The work items are not removed from the UWL even
though the work item no longer exists in the backend? The refresh does
not help and we ended up having to clear the portal cache and turning off
the Delta Pull. We have experimented repeatedly:
Delta Pull configured - work items remain after completion.
Delta Pull turned off - work items disappear after completion.
Hoping it's something simple.
Thanks,
Tom

Hi Karl,
Run function module UWL_DETECT_BWF_DELTA_JOB to check if the system thinks
you have scheduled the jobs to its satisfaction.
Also check the Visual Admin settings for the uwl service user ... there's
a SAP Note somewhere - look for UWL Delta Pull.

Jocelyn

Subject: [LIKELY JUNK]UWL Delta Pull
Hi all,
I'm trying to institute the delta-pull mechanism for a UWL to read WI's
from the backend ECC6 system. Service user UWL_SERVICE is defined in both
the portal and the ECC6 system. In the back-end the three necessary roles
are assigned and the two jobs for full and delta are running under userid
UWL_SERVICE. In the portal UWL_SERVICE has sap_all authorisations. The
SAP-logon ticket is being used. When I attempt to add the interval
parameters of 60 and 1440 in the UWL iview configuration I receive the
error message 'The backend of system systemname etc is not configured for
optimised delta pull.'
Re-registration of the system and clearing of cache works successfully,
and I used the online SDN help and Darren Hague's book to check the
process but still get the error. Seem I'm missing something or doing it
out-of-sequence. Any ideas?
