Troubleshooting webservices in workflow

Hi Sue,

Thanks for the reply. As it turns out the issue was around server level
permissions. New application servers had been added to the landscape and
the webservice was failing when called from these servers, but were fine
when called from the existing servers.

These permissions have now been updated and all seems well.

Regards,
Tony

Tony,

If nothing has changed with the server names that would be entered in
WF_EXTSRV or WF_HANDCUST, then the only thing I can think of is has the
logon password in the SICF WSHANDLER (Logon Data tab) expired and been
changed to another password in production? If so, you would have to
enter the new password in SICF.

Subject: Troubleshooting webservices in workflow

Hi,

We have a webservice task that has started to fail in the Live system.
What tips do you have to trouble shoot this?

Some info on our problem:

We are calling an external webservice in background and passing 2 text
parameters

We are using the PROCESSBATCH method of BOR object WEBSERVICE.

The task can be run to completion via SWI2_DIAG if done so by a
particular user with SAP_ALL, but not if done by another with the same
profile - this will error.

The WSHANDLER node in SICF is active and when testing via SICF is OK

THE WF_HANDCUST and WF_EXTSERV settings are unchanged since it was
working

The external webservice is running fine and can be called outside of SAP
with no problems

The error we are getting is "Error starting webservice" and "Method
PROCESSBATCH of WEBSERVICE cannot be executed"

The same workflow and webservice can be called fine from the Dev and QA
boxes

All off this leads me to think that it is somehow user related - does
the user get appended to the url of the webservice? - or is an issue
with the HTTP connection. However in both of these circumstances I am
not sure the best methods or transactions for determining the problem.

Any help appreciated...

Thanks,

Tony
