Excel - Adhoc Attacment to Workflow

Hi,
 
we have maintenance program where a workflow is triggered for any data
modified. the requirement is to pass excel sheet(includes the changes)
to the workflow when it is triggered and the user should be able to see
the excel as an attachment in the workitem in .XLS format and any emails
sent from the workflow.
