Thank you, but I went ahead and added a method to use the
SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 function call.

And, thanks again to everyone who replied!

John

Hi John,

what I have suggested meant that you do not need to have a Send Mail
step in your workflow; the report will send an email to let the user(s)
know about any work item that might be in his/hers inbox for processing.

Yes, this is what I'm looking for!

However, on the control tab of the send mail, I do not have the
'recipient type' of C available, only U (on the dropdown).
If I make modifications you suggest to the 'Send Mail' bindings - which
it allows me to do -, it places a 'C' in the 'recipient type' on the
control tab, but then get an 'enter a valid value' error on the control
tab.

The values of the global domain of SWD_MRECTY, does not have type 'C' as
an option. Do I have any options, or should I be setting the container
values somewhere else, and not in the bindings of the send mail step?

Thank you all very much for your responses!

John

John,

In addition to the details Cristiana proposed, and specifically
referring to the "Send Mail" step: if you wish to use the "Send Mail"
with distribution list, within the task container enter the followings:

*	TYPEID = C for shared distribution list. You can use its search
help to view possible entries.
*	ADDRESSSTRINGS = name of your distribution list.
*	EXPRESS = X if you wish an express pop-up.

That's all !

Good luck,

Regards,
