Trigger a workflow using an alert category

Hi All,

I'd like to trigger a workflow using an existing SAP standard alert
category. I can't see any way of doing this in the ALRTCATDEF
transaction. I've been through the SDN blog 'Innovative ways to use
alerts' but this describes a scenario where a workflow event is used to
create an alert (i.e the reverse of what I want to do).  

Does anyone know how to do this ?
