Object missing in Workflow

Hello Dear Workflow'ers,

It's been quite a while since I've been here, glad to re-join the list !

Here is the question:

We are on ECC 6.00, WAS 7, support package 0007

I've created a very simple workflow for FI documents that allows a user to send a document for processing via the generic services for object in the relevant transactions.

The object type is BKPF and for example the WF can be started from transaction FB03 via the menu: System -> Services for object -> Workflow -> Start workflow.

The workflow starts OK and the initiator can see all the details in his workflow outbox.

The first step in the workflow is a simple display step based on BKPF.DISPLAY method.

Now, the problem is that when the first user gets the task, it appears to have no object assigned to the _WI_OBJECT_ID element.

This is not a binding problem, because when the initiator looks at the log, everything seems ok and the container element is filled correctly, all texts appearing OK etc.

Only when the actual agent gets the workitem in his inbox, it appears without the object.

Both users have SAP_ALL & SAP_NEW authorization profiles.

When looking at the workitem from the initiator outbox, the _WI_OBJECT_ID element is filled correctly.

When looking at the same workitem from the agent inbox the _WI_OBJECT_ID looks like this:

Expression Values
_WI_OBJECT_ID BKPF:10100003800000262006
     Company code	<not set>
     Doc. Number	<not set>
     Fiscal year <not set>

You can see that strangely the value appears at the header of the object but the attributes don't get filled with data.

If I look at the log of the same workitem from the initiator outbox it seems ok with all the data.

However If I look at the workitem from one of the WF reports (SWI2_FREQ) with any of the users, it appears faulty without the data.

Again, all binding is correct and double - triple checked.

Any clue for this strange behavior ?

Thank you very much for your help !
Best regards,
