DMS viewer and output

Hi,

Involved in a DMS workflow project , an issue was raised about the output of
the related documents.
I am talking mainly about an PM environment , prints like for instance a
work-order which have connected documents like, XLS , DOC or other
extensions.

The customer is interested if an output is produced,  a *stamp or
watermark*regarding the status or version of the document would be a
requirement.

I searched OSS and found several specifications and descriptions refering to
"External Document Converter" or an ECL viewer.

I presume the solution lies somewhere in this direction, by converting the
document into a print-stream-file or PDF-file, added with the stamp
attributes, before printing.

Although this is not directly a wf problem , some of you might have been
involved in a solution(even third-party-software) for this.
