Workflow from Past triggered

You can also check if this Workflow came from Prod or could be from QA.
Sometimes Basis does refresh QA from Prod. and all the workflow items
comes to QA with refresh. If the workflow were for some reason hanging
before, now when the background job runs in QA all the old workflow gets
triggered. However the workflow were already because somebody had
already completed this job in Prod somehow. Who knows what user did two
years ago. This could be one possibility.

Hi,
 
The workItems are from2003, But when we took a look at the workflow log,
Everything seems fine,
There is nothing that triggers it in 2005,
The request was approved by 3 approvers and finally now the status says
"In Process"
 
Is there some other transacion where I could look to see what triggered
it.
 
They have had a similar issue before when the QA workflow messages got
activated into production in error, and the users were flooded with old
emails.
 
Could something like this happen ?

	If the workflows are from 2003, check the log to see if they
were in error or stuck (batckground step that stops).
	 
	If the workflows are new and the travel documents old you have
to check what triggers the approval workflow and then find out when that
event can be raised (easiest: turn on even log in QA and fiddle around
plus ask the event creator of the workflow what he/she did/does). It
could be that e.g. a recalculation triggers a new workflow.

	I am kind of new to workflow,
	We have a problem right now,
	It appears that there are travel requests from 2003 that need to
be approved. When you look for the request it can not be found. It
appears to me, that something happen in the workflow that triggered old
approvals. 

	Have you ever seen a workflow task triggeres from the past.?

	I checked the workflow log, everything is dated back to 2003,

	So am not sure what triggered it.

	Any input will be appreciated.
