Hola,
Welcome to the wonderful world of workflow. It is a complex technology,
mainly because it integrates a lot of different elements. It definitely
helps to have some experience with SAP - config, ABAP, Basis or whatever.

I would seriously suggest to get your company to send you on a course -
BIT600/BIT601. The tutorials are good, but it's not something that one can
pick up in a week. help.sap.com -> NetWeaver -> Web App Server -> Business
Management -> Workflow. (or something like that)
