Margaret:

Now I understand your question very clearly, but I do not have
experiences with passing the GOS attachments to the workflow. Someone
else might be able to help.

Thanks,
Larry

Larry,

Thanks for your response. A better description of my potential
requirement: I have an object to which someone as attached a document
via GOS, from the object maintenance screen (i.e. not in workflow at the
time). Later an event on that object triggers a workflow. Is there any
way to make any GOS attachments pass to the workflow so that they can be
listed on the work item?

However, it looks like this question is going to become academic,
because we are now leaning toward using DMS records for the documents.
Still, it would be interesting to know if this is possible.

Thanks,

Margaret

Margaret:

Just make sure I understand your question: Suppose you have a workflow
to approve a purchase order, and when you display a particular PO, you
click the Generic Object Services icon, what you want is to be able to
see the log for the workflow instance for your PO.

If so, you do not have to do anything. As long as the workflow has the
business object (BUS2012 for PO), the SAP system provides this feature
automatically. If the business object is not in your workflow, add it.

Thanks,
Larry

Hi WUG'ers,

Is anyone familiar with how attachments made to an object via Generic
Object Services show up, or can be made to show up, in work items or the
workflow log, in 4.6c?

Apologies that I haven't had a chance to test this myself yet but it
would help me a lot if someone who knows this could share. Also if
anyone knows where there is good documentation, SAP Help or whatever,
for GOS attachments I would greatly appreciate it. The "Help" I've found
so far is not very detailed and not especially helpful for my situation.

Thanks!
