Pat,
It has been kindly pointed out to me that the correct ID for the role should be AC30000001 ("AC" + 8 digits, not 7). Thanks to all concerned.

Hi Pat,
SAP delivers a standard role (or "workflow rule", depending on what release you're on) call "Organizational unit of a user". Its ID is AC3000001, and it calls the function module RH_GET_STRUCTURE, using evaluation path WF_ORGUN (Organizational unit of user/person). Is this what you are looking for?
Regards,

Subject: RE : How to find the HR unit of an user
Hi Serge,
The USR01 object (type US user) has an attribute name "employee". This field is an object of type employee (Type P person) that relates the user to the Employee id (or number) defined in the PA30 transaction, infotype 105 subtype 9005 (username).
That employee object is related to an organisational unit (Type O) in the Human resource structure of the company (accessible via tx pposw), if you use the organisation structure to manage the agents for the workflows.
What I'm trying to do is to find how, from USR01 or EMPLOYEE, I can find the "O" object related to the employee or the user. Presently, I'm trying also to find a function module that will list the units for an employee or an user.
Thanks
Pat Nolin

USR01 does not have access to employee information... You need to use USR01DOHR object type. And what do you mean by HR unit?
Serge
