Other solution for "Confirm end of processing"

Hi,
 
   In my workflow, I'm using an activity step that call one of my
transactions. If the user who runs my workflow (and so the activity ->
transaction) and who decides to cancel the transaction (via the menubar),
the work item in his workplace is deleted.
 
First solution : the use of the "Confirm end of processing" task property.
But my client don't like that !
 
Do you know if a second solution exists to keep the workitem in the
workplace when the user cancel the transaction without the use of "Confirm
end of processing" task property ?
