hrs1000 (languages)

Hi Michael,
Translations have a separate transport mechanism - so you need to look at the translation environment/admin menu options in SE63 to set it up.
If you don't translate it texts are usually blank. Or else they show up in the default system language - depends on the type of text and how its used. Try it and see.
Put a note in OSS - i.e. report your problem to SAP e.g. via the service.sap.com site
WAS system - i.e. Web Application Server system = a system with Basis 6.10 or above such as an R/3 4.7.
4.6B is not WAS.
Regards,
Jocelyn

Jocelyn,
thanx for the valuable hints.
*** 46B
txn SE63 (use Menu "logical objects" => "logical objects", fill screen:
PDTS,text=9xxxxxxx
(via menu "SEttings" => switch on all flags to see information as many as
possibe, e.g. the table names like hrs1000)

There we can manage the translations.

Questions:
- the translations must be included in the transport request - but SE63
does not ask for/create a transport request?
-And what happens when we dont translate it e.g. into NL and the user login
with NL as a language?

- "put a note into OSS" - How to do that?
- "WAS system" - Where can I find that in 46B?
Michael

Michael,
Put a note into OSS - it would be worth getting this explained once for
everyone. Also have a look at some of the options in SE63. In WAS systems
"lockable logical objects" is worth a try as a lot of miscellaneous doco
ends up in there. Just search on your task number only i.e. *99999999* and
you should find it. You'll find there are multiple selections e.g.
PDTS10008069 02
PDTS10008069 06
PDTS10008069 08
PDTS10008069 13
In my system 06 is the work item text and 13 is the long text - but not
sure if this was the same in 4.6B and I don't currently have access to a
4.6B system. So have a look around.
However it actually is easier to logon in the relevant language and use
PFTC_DIS (for SAP provided tasks) or PFTC_CHG (for custom tasks) to change
the long text - as this gives you a better editor to work with.

Hello Michael,

Proposal:
Logon to each one of the languages and change the "Obj. abreviation" and
"Obj. description"
with PFTC_CHG.
This will create a transport request.

Or go the "back-door" and change the content of the table-fields via SE16.

This will NOT create a transport request.

Best regards
Viveka

Hi,
table hrs1000 shows attributes, for interest here => task attributes.

Lang Userid obj. abr. Obj. desc. Changed
               ----- -------- ---------- -----------------

TS 90000039 TR DAEHNHARDT PhaseOut03 Phase Out Step 03 09.01.2003

Does anyone know how to change for the task
"Obj. abreviation" and "Obj. description"
in the other languages than EN?
(you see that a transport was done 21.5.2003)

Michael
