Container Operation Problem in CRM 3.20

Hi all:
 
I have a  couple of CRM workflows that run fine in the development system,
but in the test system my virtual attributes are not visible at the
workflow steps even though they appear in the workflow container.
 
This is manifested in null results for container operation assignments
using where I assign the value of  a virtual attribute to a container
element and missing workitem text values at run time. As I mentioned
earlier, in all cases the workflow container shows the value for the
container elements.
 
Since the workflow diagnostics show no errors and since the workflow vs was
generated and active both in devt and test and they are at the same support
pack level, I am thinking this may be a basis problem. Has any one
encountered a scenario like this, and have you any thoughts on what I may
look for? I created an OSS msg  a week ago, but have not yet received a
response.
