Reserving Deadline Items

Hi Robert,

To forward or reserve such Wis, and with enough Authorization,
goto the Workflow log, workitem display, technical detail view.
Use the menu option EDIT -> Change.
This makes the user an agent as well as reserving the item.
To forward the item, replace it manually before forwarding.
If reserving was all one wanted to do, it is now reserved.
Ie Going into change mode has reserved the item and added the user
as an agent.

So now you must have authorization to CHANGE a WI before you
reserve it, when you are not an Agent.

Execute without agent check is still handled separately.

Subject: Reserving Deadline Items

Hi fellow workflowers.
I have a problem that I'm hoping someone may be able to help with. We have recently applied support packs 28-33 inclusive to our 4.6c system which has caused problems with reserving deadline items. To reserve the deadline items the deadline manager was clicking the monitored work item button and then in the Work Item menu selecting reserve. The changes in the packs have now greyed out the reserve item in the menu. Upon investigation it seems that there are now checks that the userid is the original agent of the task, which of course the DLM is not.

Has anybody else had these problems, and if so is there a solution. We have contacted SAP and they say deadline monitoring is now working as it should and that the workflow administrator should be reserving the work items for the DLM, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of forwarding workitems to a deadline manager in my eyes.

Thanks
Robert
