New workflow in production with version number 000

I was a little confused by this myself at first use of a 4.6 system.
On 4.0 you had to generate explicit versions, and transport accordingly. In
4.6 it's done automatically - a new version is generated for each change,
independent of systems.
Thus you could have v.000, make changes to get v.001, transport to prd as
v.000
Make more changes and you'll have v.002 in dev. Upon transport it will
generate a new version in prd, giving you v.001 for the same WF.
A good system in the sense that version management is automatically taken
care of, but can be a little confusing at times. My best suggestion is to go
by dates.
Cheers
Mike

Subject: New workflow in production with version number 000

Hi,

I'm trying to understand versions and workflow transports to
production. I created a new workflow last month and transported it to
production. Because I did not understand versions and when they
should be generated, the active version number was 002 at the time it
was released from development and transported to QA and then
production. In the production environment the active version is 000
with the original version being 002. 002 does not exist in
production. The workflow is functioning correctly in production.
Should I be concerned that the version number in production is 000
instead of 002? What will happen when I transport version 003?

We are running version 4.6c, basis support package 29.

Thanks,

Carolyn
