Transporting task for Early archiving scenairo

Hi All,
I just completed a development which tested ok in QA but is now faulty in
production... Classic!
We are using a copy of the SAP standard task, "ImageAssignE" for entering
and linking an archived doc t a business doc. the problem in production is
that, I am able to see the the event "IMAGE.ASSIGNED" from 'SWEL', but on
checking  the link table 'TOA01'. The entry is not entered here and hence I
am unable to later retrieve this IMAGE.
 
I cannot imagine the cause of this as the same task was used in D and QA
and appeared to work OK. The environment is 4.6C.
