Limit on Workflow Inbox?

Elizabeth,

The inbox should have no effect on starting workflows. The only limit to the
inbox is due to the time it takes to read all the work items when you start
the inbox transaction. There have occasionally been horror stories of many
thousands of work items appearing at once in inboxes (incorrect
customizing).

There's a chance that the RFC queue is having problems or that some sort of
deadlock is taking place. If you are on 4.6C and you are triggering the
workflows via events then you should definitely be using the event queue
(not the event trace) to spread the load.

Subject: Limit on Workflow Inbox?

Hello all,

Can anybody tell me if there is a limit on the number of workitems a user
can have in their inbox?

In our Production system we have a situation where we know that 238 WFs
should have triggered but only 232 have. In the System Log (SM21) we've
found that 6 rollback errors have occurred at the time when the WF would
have triggered.

We had a similar experience in our test system. When the inbox was clearedwe
fond that all the WFs were triggered successfully. This leads me to believe
that there is a limit maintained somewhere, but where?

Any ideas would be appreciated,
