Saving inbox sort criteria

Hello,
 
We are upgrading to 4.6c (right now).  There is a particular group of users
who need the inbox sorted on Workitem ID.  However, they are not happy that
they would have to set this sort criteria each time they go to their inbox.
I have looked at all the inbox settings and have not found one for 'Save
Inbox Sort Critieria' or anything like that.  Is this possible, and I just
missed where it is ?
 
If it's a global setting, that will not work, as not all users want to sort
by workitem ID....
