Terminating Event In Task

I would venture to say that the 'confirm end..' is the problem. If it's a
foreground process, when the task is complete it will popup a box asking the
user to confirm that they're done with it.
Activate the event log and see whether the task receives the terminating
event anyway.

I have two tasks in a workflow that both have an external terminating event.
  One works and the other does not.  The task where the event does not
terminate the workitem has "Confirm end of processing" enabled.  Is this the
problem, and if so, is there a "fix" for this (or should there be)?  Or, am
I missing something else?
