Send mail API doesn't send Japanese text to outlook properly.

Hi All,
 
We are using SAP send mail API(SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1) to send mails from SAP
to Outlook .
If the mail is going out from SAP Japanese system to outlook the body of the
mail text is completely garbled.
Does anyone know what was the problem and how to rectify this ?
