[Mobilepartners] AT&T Data Rate Changes

Good Afternoon,

On June 2 AT&T announced significant changes to their data packages and pricing structure. They have switched from an unlimited data plan to tiered pricing. There's been a lot of press regarding these changes both from AT&T and other sources. This email details how these changes will affect MIT users.

For Enterprise Customers, also known as Corporate Responsibility Users (CRU)

Key Points:


 *   No existing customers will be required or prompted to make any changes. New customers, beginning June 7, will have to adhere to the new pricing structure found below.
 *   Existing Smartphone unlimited subscribers can update their devices and keep their unlimited plans. This includes upgrades which involve device platform changes (BlackBerry to iPhone or vice versa).
 *   Existing subscribers can make the data plan changes without any penalty or effect on length of service contract.

Enterprise Plans:

Data Pro Enterprise

 *   Price: $40 (before MIT CRU discount of 20%)
 *   Bucket Size: 2GB
 *   Overage Rate: $10/GB

Data Pro Enterprise with Tethering

 *   Price: $60 (before MIT CRU discount of 20%)
 *   Bucket Size: 2GB
 *   Overage Rate: $10/GB
 *   Tethering Enabled

For Individual Customers, also known as Individual Responsibility Users (IRU)

 *   Price: $15 (before MIT IRU discount of 15%)
 *   Bucket Size: 200MB
 *   Overage Rate: $15/200MB

Data Pro

 *   Price: $25 (before MIT IRU discount of 15%)
 *   Bucket Size: 2GB
 *   Overage Rate: $10/GB
 *   Tethering Plans: $20/month add-on

International Data Plan Changes

Customers using the $65 Unlimited International Data Add-On for smartphones or iPhones will be "grandfathered" and allowed to continue using this add-on. Starting June 7, it will not be available to new customers. Instead, customers looking for an International Data Plan will need to choose from the following global add-on plans.

 *   $24.99/month:  20MB
 *   $59.99/month:  50MB
 *   $119.99/month:  100MB
 *   $199.99/month:  200MB
 *   $499.99/month:  500MB
