Forwarded message from Amy E. Davis <amydavis at mit.edu<mailto:amydavis at mit.edu>>:
Please find attached the call for pre-proposals for grant funding from the Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation<http://deshpande.mit.edu/grants-resources/how-apply> and the Abdul Latif Jameel World Water and Food Security Lab<https://jwafs.mit.edu/>. I have included a brief description of the grant opportunities below.
The Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation's research innovation grant program is open to all postdocs but must be submitted through MIT faculty with principal investigator (PI) status. The Center's grant program provides significant benefits, beyond just funding, to its recipients in support of the commercialization of their technology. They are seeking both earlier-stage, proof-of-concept research projects with broad potential impact, and later-stage innovations that researchers are eager to see brought to market and commercialized. Interested postdocs are advised to coordinate with their faculty advisor or PI. Apply here!<https://mitdcti2018.fluidreview.com/>
The J-WAFS' projects are required to align with the lab's strategic research focus around water and food supply and safety. Supported projects should be aimed at conceptualizing and developing products and services that will have a significant impact on water and food security, with related economic and societal benefits; that will improve the productivity, accessibility, and sustainability of the world's water and food systems. Are you working on technology related to these issues and looking to make your research market ready but lack support in funding or industry-related connections? The Abdul Latif Jameel World Water and Food Security Lab (J-WAFS) Solutions programmed managed by the MIT Deshpande Center, aims to help MIT faculty and students commercialize breakthrough technologies and inventions by transforming promising ideas at MIT into innovative products and cutting-edge spinout companies. Apply here!<https://j-wafs-solutions.fluidreview.com/>
Pre-Proposals for the both The Deshpande Center & J-WAFS grants are due by February 22, 2018.
