Did you fall for somebody's April fools' joke on Friday? I'm always happy when they just pass me by.
After the big success last week, we are continuing the Sport Mondays and Thursdays! We really appreciate all your positive feedback!!
For all of you who want to give their career a little push, the Spring Career Fair on Wednesday is definitely the place to be.
And for all people with a sweet tooth...unfortunately, we all have to wait another week for the big Dessert Competition on April 15th.

Spring is here and we have great sports events coming up. All postdocs of all skill levels are invited. NO GYM MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED! If you don't enjoy sports, join us for the after-game food, drinks and fun.
IMPORTANT: Please bring your MIT ID. To enter the MIT Rec Center, inform the staff that you are a postdoc attending the scheduled PDA event. The entrance is free only during our events. The MAC Court is difficult to find for the first time, so come on time. Use Vassar street entrance!!! The 3rd floor door from the other side is locked most of the time.

PDA sports weekly event continues! Join us for a friendly sports game followed by pizza at Muddy's. We ensured free access to the MIT Rec Center for postdocs during our events. Based on your survey we are playing indoor soccer, but sports will change based on your feedback. Recover, recharge and socialize after the games at Muddy's pub. Free, hot pizza will be served and drinks are available for purchase with a valid ID. Please, RSVP so we can order enough pizza

Sponsored by MIT Postdoctoral Association and MIT Spouses and Partners Connect
Want to compete (Registration until April 8th): Be prepared to bring your desserts to win!!! We will have two categories in which you can participate --Chocolate Desserts and Non-Chocolate Desserts. We are asking each contestant to prepare 20 dessert portions for judges. Contestants will get a $25 tech cash card at the event for their expenses.

Postdoc Orientation Sessions:
The PDA offers Postdoc Orientation Sessions open to all postdocs at MIT. Topics covered include:
* Data on postdoc population at MIT
* MIT oversight of postdocs
* Defining postdoc expectations
* Differences between fellows and associates
* PDA structure and initiatives
* How to get involved
The sessions will be typically the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 12pm (45-60min) in E19-306. Lunch will be provided.

Allyson Evans is Senior Scientific Editor at Molecular Cell. She earned her Ph.D. in Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She then came to Boston to conduct postdoctoral research at MIT on the molecular mechanisms of aging, with Leonard Guarente. She joined Molecular Cell in 2010.

Breaking the Bias Habit: a Workshop on Unconscious Gender Bias (organized by MIT Institute Community and Equity Office)
This workshop is of special value for faculty engaged in recruiting of graduate students, postdocs, and faculty, but it will be useful for anyone in the MIT community. A version of the same workshop will be given earlier in the day to MIT's Academic Council, the top-level decision-making and presidential advisory group at MIT. Seating is limited, so register today.
Following this workshop, I will convene a planning team to refine a workshop curriculum to be offered to all MIT faculty and staff next academic year.
