Hi Karen:

I would try to map the drive. Right click on My Computer and click "Map Network Drive", enter the server address using \'s (e.g. \\someplace.mit.edu\share_name) and click the blue link that says "different user name". Enter the credentials that you've setup on the Leopard server and see what happens.

Good Luck!
Andrew

Hello,

I have smb service running and the firewall is set to allow smb/cifs
connections.

We are able to see the server from the xp client but it will not let
him sign in. The user name and password have been verified. The xp
machine signs him in as machine name/username and that will not work.
At someplace on the xp machine I chose sign in with another username
but it just did not do anything.

Any advice?

thanks in advance,

karen
