I would try to map the drive. Right click on My Computer and click “Map Network Drive”, enter the server address using \’s (e.g. \\someplace.mit.edu\share_name) and click the blue link that says “different user name”. Enter the credentials that you’ve setup on the Leopard server and see what happens.<BR>

Hello,<BR>
<BR>
I have smb service running and the firewall is set to allow smb/cifs <BR>
connections.<BR>
<BR>
We are able to see the server from the xp client but it will not let <BR>
him sign in. The user name and password have been verified. The xp<BR>
machine signs him in as machine name/username and that will not work. <BR>
At someplace on the xp machine I chose sign in with another username<BR>
but it just did not do anything.<BR>
<BR>
Any advice?<BR>
