Good morning,
Information Systems is pleased to announce the release of Fetch
4.0.3, the latest version of the supported file transfer protocol
(FTP) program for Mac OS. Fetch uses Kerberos for secure
authentication and encryption of data as it's being transferred.
Who Should Download and Why
------------------------------
Among the new features, (which are described below), Fetch 4.0.3
provides improved compatibility with Mac OS X 10.2 and Kerberos.
If your department has a local computer administrator, then IS
recommends that you consult him or her first before downloading and
installing this new software. If your department does not have a
local computer administrator, then IS recommends that you carefully
review the list of new features and bug fixes and determine whether
you would benefit from upgrading to this newer version before
downloading and installing it.
New Features and Bug Fixes in Fetch 4.0.3

- Fixed AppleScript recording on OS X 10.2.
- Fixed a bug that caused crashes when canceling transfers on OS X 10.2
- Added a preference to specify the text file line ending style.

- Mirror command to synchronize local and remote folders, allowing
one-click website updating.
- Drag-and-drop transfers from server to server.
- Resume downloads even after Fetch quits or your machine crashes.
- Create and edit remote text and image files with BBEdit and Graphic
Converter.
- Support for GSS (Kerberos 5) security.
- Support for 11 different kinds of proxy servers.
- View Media File command to preview images, sounds, movies.
- Contextual menus -- Control-click to see a list of relevant commands.
- Move files and folders by dragging the icons around.
- Get Info command to total the size of folders.
- Support added for transferring files larger than 2GB.
- Full compatibility with System 7.0 through Mac OS X 10.2
- IS documentation on using Fetch with a network address translation
(NAT) device
