The Area of Marketing and Supply Chain Management in the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University invites applications for up to two full-time, nine-month positions at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice, Associate Professor of Practice, or Professor of Practice, with appointments beginning in Fall 2026.
Major/Essential Functions:
At Texas Tech University, the Professor of Practice title is used to recruit individuals with exceptional backgrounds and achievements in academic, business, government, or other professional practice. Primary responsibilities will normally be to teach in an area of expertise, mentor students in professional and career preparation, and liaise with professional contacts and entities on behalf of the department or program.
In line with TTU's strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.
As a faculty member in the Area of Marketing and Supply Chain Management, you will be expected to: 1) contribute to the teaching mission of the department; 2) retain and build industry relationships to support teaching and recruiting activities; 3) provide service to the department, college, and university; 4) participate in and support world-class research activities
Required Qualifications:
1. At a minimum, candidates must have a graduate business degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution;
2. Industry or research experience in core supply chain management-related functions (i.e., logistics, operations, and sourcing);
3. The ability to teach undergraduate/graduate SCM courses.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Ph.D. in logistics or supply chain management from an AACSB-accredited institution,
2. Meaningful industry work experience in supply chain management roles,
3. University-level teaching expertise in supply chain management courses,
4. A demonstrated record or potential for publishing in top-tier academic SCM journals.
5. Exceptional communication skills
6. A student-centered service orientation
